This high-quality space-saver that is made in Germany was developed together with architect Cord Glantz from GEPLAN Design. Rolf Benz XAIO will be premièred at the company’s Hotelier and Planners’ Day on 3rd May 2023.
XAIO – eXperience All In One – is the first product created by the upholstery experts from the Black Forest alongside the architect from Stuttgart. The companies have already shown that they can create something special together in several projects, most recently in the implementation of the Car Lift Hotel b’mine Frankfurt Airport.
The result of this latest collaboration is a conceptually sophisticated modular object: a high-quality upholstered headboard that protectively embraces its guests. With matching side sections, it offers them a bedside table, a shelf, a comfortable seat or a relaxed sofa area. Rolf Benz XAIO can optionally be completed with a luxurious bed from Rolf Benz Contract or with other beds available in the hotel industry. The possibilities that arise from the concept even in compact, urban spaces can be seen at first glance: sleep well, work hard, chill out and relax – Rolf Benz XAIO is a real “All In One” experience. Rolf Benz XAIO can be stylishly and flexibly interpreted with tailor-made add-ons.
Dimensions
Rolf Benz XAIO carefully considers the planning-related requirements for beds in hospitality. Rolf Benz XAIO therefore provides the option of integrating the electrical installation in the headboard, anticipating complicated planning processes for cables in rooms to comply with fire regulations. With its upholstered, enveloping form, Rolf Benz XAIO also meets soundproofing requirements.
Optimal adaptability is another fundamental feature of Rolf Benz XAIO. The central section comes in three widths, heights and depths as standard. The three side sections can be manufactured with or without arm rests and can flexibly be combined left and right.
Customized lighting
To ensure premium quality, intelligence and sustainability in all aspects of Rolf Benz XAIO, Rolf Benz and GEPLAN Design involved several companies in the development of the bed. All partners are known for their many years of expertise and made in Germany quality.
As a highly recommended add-on to the bed headboard, Cord Glantz from GEPLAN Design designed an emotive light together with Baulmann Leuchten. Made in Sundern, this top-class directional light fitting has a wonderful cone of light that doesn't dazzle your eyes. The radii on the bed headboard are echoed in the light’s design.
Available in different surface finish colours, the light can be operated with switches in the same colour from the Jung Group from Schalksmühle, another partner. The basic design is available in matt black.

Rolf Benz presents Rolf Benz XAIO in a fabric by Rohi. Well-known in the aviation and rail industries, Rohi from Geretsried designs high-quality textiles for the contract market. Rohi designed the “Sera” woollen fabric for Rolf Benz in a unique mix of colours to show off the soft forms and high-quality seam finish of Rolf Benz XAIO in its best light. An additional fire-retardant coating for the already fire-resistant, sound-absorbing fabric is also available.
Rolf Benz XAIO can also be enhanced with an exclusive faux leather cover from Continental. This is fixed with press studs and complies with the highest hygiene standards. The “Evida” faux leather used is non-toxic, 100% vegan and is 90% sustainably produced in Germany.

In keeping with Rolf Benz XAIO, Studio Labsdesign from Hamburg has designed a height-adjustable workstation that is ideal for working on your laptop in the lounge area. Rolf Benz Contract 8820 is suitable as a side table for the bed or seat.
The Rolf Benz XAIO setting can also be given an individual touch with many other add-ons from the Rolf Benz collection – whether that’s a side table, graceful armchairs or a seat bench.

Involving additional experts to achieve the perfect design of Rolf Benz XAIO was a logical step in this cosmopolitan and productive atmosphere.
